1st half of 2021
The Milk Exchange will introduce:
- A Dairy Price Index based on actual trades on the Milk Exchange. This Index will be able to be used as a reference price for milk buyers and sellers seeking to enter into financial derivatives for milk.
- Counter party financial risk management tools for the physical trade of milk via the Milk Exchange. This will allow counter parties to contracts to better manage the risk associated with the credit quality of counter parties.
- A Clearing House facility or equivalent to assist buyers and sellers support efficient financial settlement of trades via the Milk Exchange and to support the trading of financial derivatives
- Education and a range of tools that will assist buyer and seller with their trading capability and in developing their trading strategies
2nd half of 2021
The Milk Exchange will introduce:
- Financial Service Integration to allow for the trade of financial products on the Milk Exchange in addition to the trading of physical milk and dairy products
- Enhanced tools for milk and dairy buyers to create their own supply chain opening avenues to optimise the dairy and milk supply chain for those buyers without in independent ability to do so
- New products to assist the industry innovate and find greater value from trading milk an dairy products
